Love it. Simmonds is the prototypical Flyers style of player. Absolutely love it.

Knowing the Flyers, Simmonds is the exact style of player they will keep around his entire career. Don't kid yourself, this teams run by the broadstreet bullies and they love guys that play the way simmonds does.

The analogy to a congressional bill was apt. Mostly because all of the people involved are horrible human beings and the John and Jane Q Hockeyfan (or citizen, depending on which part of the analogy you are referring) will be the one to get screwed AND foot the bill.

This is unexpected news...not sure about this though. This is a great deal for Simmer. Didn't think the Flyers had to take this leap of faith with the term. Just a lot of money for what he actually brings to the ice. No PK ability, borderline PP player (although he will prob be a steady PP guy this year) They've established him as a young leader for the organization. I just don't think he is ever going to outplay this contract. Win for Simmer.

Not sure either. Wouldn't want to negotiate w/ his agent right now after a career year.

I don't see how Simmonds is a borderline PP player. He had 11 PP goals last year. Which is one PP goal away from being in the top 10 in the League. He showed a real knack for playing around the net on the PP.
